Why your business or company should have an AED program.

Thousands of companies have incorporated CPR/AED training into their workplace safety programs because AED's that are onsite, and used in combination with CPR, save lives.  According to statistics released by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), 13% of workplace related deaths are attributed to sudden cardiac arrest.  Common causes of workplace sudden cardiac arrest include heart attack, electrocution and asphyxiation.

Businesses have a responsibility to care of employees as well as their customers.  Having  CPR/AED training as part of your businesses workplace safety program lets your employees, customers and guests know that you take their safety and welfare seriously.

Onsite AED's can vastly improve survival odds in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
Depending on your location, you cannot always rely on calling 911 to get help on time.  Click the play button on the video clip below for more information about sudden cardiac arrest and why response time is so critical.

HeartMasters "Turn Key"
program is your best choice for an all inclusive plan that covers every aspect of total program management (click here for more details).

HeartMasters understands your business's concerns about liability and cost.

All fifty states have implemented "Good Samaritan" laws that protect rescuers and the companies they work for from liability associated with CPR and the use of AED's.  In fact, the
majority of lawsuits initiated thus far have been against organizations that failed to acquire and deploy AEDs.

For organizations that choose not to implement CPR/AED programs, risk management relies on the expectation that a court will find an abscence of legal duty.  In many states it is a requirement that some entities such as schools, health clubs, golf courses, hotels and places of public assembly have CPR/AED programs in place.  Given this growing proliferation of AEDs in public places, it is possible that in the future the categories of entities required to comply may broaden.
